South Dakota Surprise

While heading out to South Dakota for an archery DIY mule deer hunt, my plans got altered on the way. I had just crossed into South Dakota, at midnight, on a state highway that took a couple bends before straightening out. Coming out of the last bend, there in the middle of the road, a band of cattle greeted me. I avoided the first Black Angus somehow, but not his companion. Black cattle, on a blacktop road, at midnight are tough to see. I noticed the second one as it was collapsing my grill into the windshield. My trusty GMC Sierra was totaled, I walked away, the cow didn’t.
