Season Reports

Scouting the Edges

I strapped on the snowshoes and scouted the perimeter of a public hunting ground after a fresh snow. Got a good feel for where to look for bedding and travel routes to feeding areas that I’ll check out later. I’ll dive into those places in another month or so when winter is winding down, to verify my suspicions. I don’t want to disturb any deer in there now and add stress on them at this time of year. Surviving winter is tough enough on them without being pushed all over the place by some nosey hunter (me).
