Finally hit the woods this past weekend as Jacob came with me on his first “buck hunt” from a treestand. Had him secured in the lifeline from when he left the ground to when he came back down after dark…a great peace of mind for this dad. Despite the warm weather, we had good deer movement. Jacob got to hear his first buck grunt as a small buck nudged a few does around. They wanted nothing to do with him though. Sunday evening, we had 3 bucks come by, but it was after shooting light when I’d already lowered my bow to the ground (too small anyway). The moon’s peaking later and later these nights so I’m seeing the deer movement get later and later right now. I’m excited for another week and a half when the moon will be peaking in the a.m. More to come!
