| Just got back from Illinois and had a good hunt harvesting a decent buck out there. I was really excited to get back on a couple bucks I had been hunting here. Right before I left I got a couple pics of a buck I call Droppy. I had figured out his bedding area but do not have permission to hunt it so it was going to be a waitng game. The place he beds is only 2 acres and there always over there working on that house. I drove by the house and they where working so I grabbed my stand and sticks and went in a did a hang and hunt. I thought he might be in my spot because of the construction going on over there and towards the end of the evening want to go back. Thats exactly what happen he showed up came right in and gave me a quartering to shot at 15 yds I had to take it. I was at full draw and the deer looked up at me I thought it is now or never. When I shot the arrow went right under him and took of some white belly hair. It was a clean miss but man am I heart broke over that. I have been passing that buck for two years letting him grow to that. I got the whole thing on video but man it sucks double drops and around low 160ish class deer would of been my best. Oh well what can I do know I’ll be back at it again this evening. |
