Florida Hog Hunt

florida hog hunting

I’m not one to just sit on the beach, for very long at least…unless I’m shark fishing! So last week while in Florida with my family, I took my son Jacob up to the Jacksonville area for a one-day hog hunt. My friend, Jeff Ratliff, graciously took us to a lease he has near the Florida-Georgia line. Wild hogs are a nuisance about everywhere in the south, so landowners are very willing to let hunters shoot them as often as possible. Well, as luck would have it, we got skunked this day. Jacob and I saw a few squirrels, an opossum, some voles, and several cardinals, but no pigs. It was a great day with my son, though, and we’re already looking forward to another try next year!
