400″ Buck! My Recent Visit with Barry

400 inch buck - breeder buck sheds over 400 inches
I recently had the pleasure of getting caught up with an old friend, Barry South on my way back from a family vacation to Florida. Barry moved to Kentucky several years ago. We used to hunt together a bit when we were first getting Blood Brothers Outdoors going (now NextBuk). He has since started a deer farm, Woodard Whitetails of Kentucky, and is growing some absolutely incredible bucks! Barry graciously gave a tour of his facilities there and explained what’s involved in growing some of the largest racked bucks in the world. It’s quite a science. Barry’s biggest buck is over 400 inches! Jen and the kids and I especially loved feeding some of his does by hand… a really cool treat, and an awesome closeup reference for the taxidermist in me! I hope to get back down to photograph his deer some more later this summer. Here are some more pics from our visit.

Great to see Barry again!

These are the sheds off Barry's biggest breeder buck... low 400's gross, I think around 406. Easy to lose track after so many inches!
